I think most people will find my weight loss tips a bit unconventional, but they do work. So, to continue…
Weight loss tip #6: In my last post I suggested that you say a prayer before eating, in order to to remember that food keeps you alive. This probably seems silly to a lot of people, but the lack of conscious awareness is, in my opinion, one of the biggest reasons for our current obesity epidemic. In fact, I’ve written an entire book on keeping your commitment to weight loss by recovering your awareness of what you eat. Continue Reading »

If you’ve read any of my books or articles, you probably know that I like doing things the easy way - and for me that means working with human nature instead of against it. We get so busy in our lives that we often forget the simple things that can help us stay healthy.

Just mention the word “diet,” and I feel picked on. The word implies deprivation, doing without, saying “no” to all the good stuff. That’s why I’m so excited about a new cookbook I found that wasn’t anywhere near the diet books in the local bookstore.
The title is Good & Garlicky, Thick & Hearty, Soul-Satisfying More-Than-Minestrone Italian Soup Cookbook by Joseph J. Famularo. The title itself is a tasty mouthful. Continue Reading »

Does caffeine affect how much you eat, or which things you eat, or how much weight you can lose? Well, let’s see - sugar in your coffee, donuts with your morning coffee break, cookies with tea - have we discovered a connection? If you have mild food cravings that prevent you from saying “no” to a high-calorie snack in the middle of the morning, you might want to cut back on your coffee. It could help you lose a few pounds with less struggle.
I you really don’t think caffeine consumption has anything to do with gaining (or not losing) weight, try this experiment - give up caffeine for two weeks, and then start drinking it again. Continue Reading »
